This journey into the Scottish Highlands led us to make a ring starting from Glasgow and arriving in Edinburgh, visiting the many castles, including those of Stirling, Urqhart, Dunrobin ... and through charming towns like Inveraray, Fort William, Thurso ... We stopped on the shores of Loch Ness and we walked the few streets of Orkney. We sailed on one of the many fjords of the west coast and we enjoyed the taste of the peated whiskey distillery in the smallest of Scotland. All this always with a little unreal atmosphere that hovers over this land border. Too bad only that the trip was arranged through a tour operator and as well known, the time to enjoy private space of places visited and people they know are almost zero: if he had not understood this type of trip ("tourism" is the right word in this case) is certainly not my favorite and I will try to avoid it as much as possible in the future! ![]() |
